How to check a pump.fun dev before you buy
The best predictor of what a coin will do is often what its creator did last time. A wallet that launched twelve coins this week and watched every one collapse will probably do it again. Here is how to read a pump.fun developer's record in under a minute.
1. Find the creator wallet
Every pump.fun coin page shows the creator. Rugscope also finds it from the token's address and links their profile.
2. Count their launches
Look at how many coins the wallet has created, and how recently. One or two launches is normal. Several a day is a launch farm: they throw coins at the wall and dump whatever gets traction. A.U.G.U.R's strict rug-guard skips devs with more than two launches in the last seven days.
3. Check what happened to them
- Graduation rate: how many of their coins completed the bonding curve. Most coins never do, so even a modest rate is a good sign.
- Collapse rate: how many fell far below their peak and stayed there.
- Peak vs now: a long list of coins down 90%+ from their highs tells the story.
4. See what the dev holds now
A dev still holding a big share of this coin can dump on you. A dev who sold everything in the first minutes has already left. Watch for supply moved to side wallets too, which shows up as transfers rather than sells.
Do it automatically
Paste the coin into A.U.G.U.R Rugscope: its dev-history engine pulls the creator's launches from pump.fun, works out graduation and collapse rates and median drawdown, and flags serial launchers. Busy coins already have a report in the token directory.
Memecoins are extremely risky. Most go to zero, often within hours. Nothing on this page is financial advice. Only trade what you can afford to lose.
Questions
How do I find who created a pump.fun coin?
The creator wallet is shown on the coin's pump.fun page. Pasting the token address into A.U.G.U.R Rugscope also shows the creator and their past launches.
What is a serial rugger?
A wallet that launches many coins in a short time and abandons or dumps them. Several launches a day with most coins collapsing is the typical pattern.
Is a new dev wallet a red flag?
Not on its own. Many honest devs use a fresh wallet. Combine it with bundles, holder concentration and early sells before deciding.
